Love this company, helped out with tech. While sometimes disorganized , it is bound to happen due to not having a home theatre. Very welcoming community that bonds on a personal level every show, helping everyone mesh. It is, though, a non profit community theatre so there is no pay, but you will be payed with a very fun experience and great cast members, and above all, a great show.

    EDIT:
Failure to pay contractors what they were quoted, failure to pay for rental space on time, use of rehearsal space despite communication from landlord that the space was already booked resulting in wasted rehearsal time, changes to scripts including use of dialog during musical galas, forcing actors to learn said dialog last minute, casting of actors in roles without their permission, announcing things regarding individuals in front of the entire group as a manipulative tactic, failure to pay stipends on time, sometimes not at all, fat shaming, age shaming, failure to act swiftly when someone experienced sexual harassment. This is despite giving no tolerance speeches.

Apart from that, the director and her new right hand woman frequently resort to narcissistic behavior and even drove out the original co-founder rather than address these behaviors and change them. Director also likes to target women in the cast when she feels they have inconvenienced her, but rarely the men. Entitled, dishonest behavior is pretty frequent. Preaching about how she hates men.

Does not respect actors’ safety or time. Multiple cases of heat exhaustion have happened multiple times from pushing actors too far in hot conditions.Injuries from actors having to move set pieces that were clearly too heavy.

Be prepared to be stuck in a role you did not want, never know when you are called because they don’t make the schedule for the week sometimes until the day of. They expect nearly unlimited availability from you, and you likely won’t be compensated what you were providing unless you hound them or are the stage manager or assistant director/costumer or the light/sound guy.

Director also won’t respect when you need to be on vocal rest and deliberately spreads illness by refusing to wear masks and coming to rehearsals anyway. The costumer and assistant director doesn’t respect costumes or props that do not belong to her. Be ready to have your costumes worn and dirtied by her. She also refuses to do any laundry, so she makes the actors take everything home and then complains when things are lost or forgotten. There’s a reason why they rarely can hold on to new people. Deliberately refusing to credit people for their work in the programs or on their website.
